Don't Look Now (No, Really, There's Nothing to See Here)

The law is changing. If you purchase any goods or services for your business that are a tax writeoff, and the total exceeds $600 from a particular business, you must file a 1099 against that business. You had to do it for services anyway, but now you also have to do it for material goods.

Looking for Hiking Ideas

I will have a week in July to hike and camp somewhere in the Southwest. I'm trying to decide where to go.

What I'm looking for:

  • hot climate (dry preferred, but humid would be fine as well)
  • warm at night (so not high altitude)... 50's is fine, dips to mid 40's is tolerable, but mostly I'd like it to be above 50 the whole time
  • rich landscape
  • easy access to an airport serviced by Southwest

This limits it, I think, to Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, and Albuquerque. Maybe Florida, Alabama, or Arkansas.

Twitter Woes

One feature I want to make work in my website is automatic updates to Twitter when I post in the site. I think I have all the components installed, but it's not updating.

Facebook was easy. So why is Twitter so hard? What am I missing here?

Late-Spring Snow

I went to bed early last night, not feeling well. When I fell asleep, it was chilly, as it had been for the last few days.

When I woke up this morning, there was three inches of snow on the ground. And it's still snowing. Heavily, at the moment.

Spring was here. I have already switched over to summer tires on both vehicles. I was riding my motorcycle over the weekend, and even rode it to work Monday and Tuesday this week. The roads were dry, the sidewalks were dry, and there were just little patches of snow here and there, mostly in people's yards or shady areas.
